I woke up to a txt from my ex. It was 7:30 in the morning, and it couldn’t have been a worse feeling. We haven’t talked in two months. From my point of view our relationship for a year has been (post break up): talk every day, see each other two times a week, go out to parties (being friends). Then all of a sudden: No txting for a week, I see on facebook hes dating someone I don’t know, still no txting, I delete him from facebook because hes blowing up my wall, delete him from tumblr because its all mushy poetry about her, hurts knowing he doesn’t want any kind of contact. And then I realized being friends with an ex is like having an empty wine bottle in your fridge: It takes up space and it doesn’t do you much good. So, I decided not to txt him. Maybe his view of it is different. But I don’t need a drug abuser in my life. I need someone who I can be a better me around. I need to surround myself with someone who looks with me to the future instead of reminding me of how much better something was in the past. Its such a shitty decision, really it is. I just don’t want him in my life anymore. Maybe after I graduate college, and if we’re both in the area I’ll have a drink with him in a familiar place. But, maybe we’ll both be so far in different directions we won’t care anymore. In fact, it will be a bother to the both of us.
